Rafting is the safest activity on the Nive

Rafting is the safest activity on the Nive, in Bidarray in the Basque Country, the most accessible and the friendliest that we offer. You will be aboard a foolproof inflatable boat (inflatable boat) (rafting) with an onboard instructor who will guide you and accompany you throughout the descent. This is the best way to discover the Nive in the Basque Country by rafting, in complete safety.

“Green rafting”, “blue rafting” or “red rafting» depending on the period and the water levels. Initiation raft course embellished with eventful passages of class 2 and 3.

Come and try rafting with the Basque Country rafting school, supervised by experienced instructors who are passionate about rafting and white water. Crossing the magnificent gorges of the Nive (which has its source above Saint Jean Pied de Port and Saint Etienne de Baigorry), this wild river where calm waters and white waters alternate (class 2 and 3 rapids), will take you to Bidarray in the heart of the Basque Country in the Pyrenees 64..

Supervised by experienced instructors

You will navigate in a natural and wild environment where the Basque identity is still very present. This natural space is guarded by herds of ewes, cows and Pottok (a breed of very old stocky Basque small horses, living in semi-freedom in the middle of the mountains).

Open from 09:00 to 19:00 in July and August

All year round by reservation

The Nive (a mountain stream) rises above Saint Jean Pied de Port and Saint Etienne de Baigorry, then joins Bidarray.
This magnificent village of Bidarray in department 64 is a Mecca for Pyrenean rafting in Aquitaine. You can therefore choose the Bidarray rafting formula with the Ur Ederra rafting school.

The church and the "pont d'enfer" of Bidarray are at the start of the western Pyrenees in the 64, 30 minutes from Biarritz. You can opt for the Rafting Biarritz formula.
It then passes through Itxassou (cherry paradise) below Espelette, famous for its Espelette chilli pepper.
It crosses Cambo les Bains and Ustaritz to finish in Bayonne.

Do not confuse it with the Nivelle, a small calm river which passes through Saint Pée Sur Nivelle (canoe route in calm water), through Ascain and joins Saint Jean de Luz where you can go wave rafting (next to Socoa and Ciboure). The Saint Jean de Luz rafting package is waiting for you.

The fishing port of Saint Jean de Luz is one of the oldest in the Basque Country.

For the Rafting Landes, Rafting Seignosse, rafting Capbreton, Rafting Hossegor, rafting Messanges, rafting Capbreton, rafting Moliets or rafting Léon, you are only a few kilometers from the Bidarray base…
